Oosterbeek Laag church, to the right is the Ter Horst residence where an aid station was located during the fighting. Behind this church was the main evacuation route. The church was defended by what was called the "Lonsdale force" after its commander, Dick Lonsdale.
In front of the church is a tree with a small plaque dedicated to 5 airbornes that were killed there when a mortar hit the tree.
